I am Head of Grade 1 within the Primary Department here at VSP. For the past two weeks, new and returning teachers have enjoyed the new school year orientation program. From this program, all VSP educators were treated to a wealth of informative, exciting, and challenging material.
Perhaps of most importance was the emphasis on national and company culture. All staff was presented with the underlying principles of a successful people. Here, at VSP, these are considered via the 5 Cs (Caring, Communicative, Creative, Confident, Cordial) and the 5 Rs (Respect, Resilient, Responsible, Risk-Taking, Reflective).
Central to the representation of these descriptors were speeches from the VSP Executive Principal, Ms. Sara, as well as supporting curriculum explanation from Dr. Natalie Pitre.
From conversations with fellow teachers, it is clear the overall impression of the two-week orientation session was one of accomplishment. Indeed, teachers received and understood crucial information pertaining to teaching methodology, school procedures, company policies, and national considerations.
Lastly, the respective grade-level teams had an opportunity to meet. Chinese and Western teachers participated in activities designed to establish a healthy rapport. Respective coteachers worked together to set the initial few weeks of learning … this so that when the students arrive at campus they will be given education inclusive of best practices, collaboration, open-mindedness, and care.
China is strong; DTD is strong; VSP is strong, and because of this the new and returning teachers will be strong as well. All of us here at VSP appreciate your time. I hope you are looking forward to an amazing year together. Thank you.
